As I originally suspected the Ticats cannot offer Bo guaranteed money. Good to see they went out and traded for someone that was so excited and enamored that he will wait for all of his other options before signing. When i asked my wife to marry me, she did the same. Waited a few months and called a few other guys up to see what the opportunity was then she landed on me. Did your other wife pack up and go back to Texas until you guys came to an agreement?

What a bunch of smart and prophetic posters we have in this forum!!! we should extend an invite to the Prowl, after all the majority of them want Stein fired now. Didn't think I'd be the last to call for his firing. I hate firing coaches. Usually takes a while to recover.

Didn't think I'd be the last to call for his firing. I hate firing coaches. Usually takes a while to recover. I don't like to see coaches fired, but this has gone on long enough. The team, on paper, has a LOT of talent.
It's time to stop blaming the players. Virtually everyone has been replaced (Rev, Simoni, Teddy excepted) and the results have diminished every year. What's left is coaching.
Was 2019 lightning in a bottle? While the Offence was humming, the Defence and Special Teams were excellent that year (or, at least above average).
2021 was a complete and total mess - starting with a terrible O-line. The "1A/1B" BS was a kick in the nards to the QB who worked his ass off to get the team to the previous GC, in favour of a QB coming off an ACL repair and was pretty much ineffective. I don't need to remind everyone about the worst coaching decision I have ever seen (The Kneel) in a Championship game (the Russel Wilson INT is second place, with the 13th man coming in third).
2022 started off with an even WORSE O-line, and the teamhad to trade lots of draft pics in order to shore it up after Labour Day. Oddly enough, the team was able to go on a playoff run. Who would have thought that a decent O-line would make your Offence better? Certainly not the Head Coach, the 3 General Managers, nor the President of Football Operations, it seems...
Fast-forward to this season, and things remain the same. Poor QB play, too many turnovers, and a horrible O-line, with a good starting lineup on the 6-game. Woodmansey was pretty good, from what I dould see, until his injury (ribs, I think. At the time, I thought it was head trauma), but the idea of signing/extending players with an EXTENSIVE injury history may not have been a good idea (Saxelid, BLM, CVZ, etc).

Unfortunately we are all harping on the same issues that have plagued the team for three seasons now. Stein and crew have been too arrogant to see it and the fans on the other board until recently drank too much kool aid.

Basically when you have to keep to your agenda eventually you'll have to come to grips with reality

Should the Cats explore bringing in McLeod-Bethal Thompson?

Should the Cats explore bringing in McLeod-Bethal Thompson? Just as much of a statue as Bo. Can't imagine things would be much different

Conversation inevitably leads to Evans. He would make the offense more competitive but if you're consistently down two or more scores it just invites more and more risk, as Crash pointed out, because it forces passing which increases pass rush so on and so forth. The supposed "astute football mind" of Stein had to have realized problems with the defense even before this year. What does he do ? Doubles down on Washington as DC. And if Stein saw no problems then he's worse than I estimated.

I mentioned on The Prowl that there has been close to 95% roster turnover since 2018/2019, and there has been constant decline since then. Yet, the mantra has always been "players have to execute", while not once taking the blame for coaching issues. Well, the overwhelming numbers of players have changed, perhaps the wrong ones were signed, but if the team consistently declines, then it's time to look at management and coaching.

if Stein was as loyal to players as he was coaches we may not be in this mess.
