Personally i don't think we can go into next year with only Bo. Remember Jason Maas? I think they will find a way to keep Evans, if he wants to be here and the money can be sorted. Bo hasnt shown he can play a full season in a while. I hope this is the way things go because if it means the end of Evans in Hamilton then I'll be truly pissed!!! Same. Shiltz is a FA, so they might just let him walk

This is starting to feel like the time the 'Cats let Calvillo go for nothing. Released him outright. He could have been McManus's back-up just like he was Ham's in Montreal but the 'Cats didn't want him.

I'd be a hypocrite if I was critical of the regime getting all ambitious like this but Im hoping it isnt the end of the Evans era.

Ridernation squirming, rationalizing. Nice to stick to 'em.

Real question, does Bo help Begelton or Jordan find their way to the Black and Gold as well?

I will reserve reaction to this trade until I see what happens with Evans. Lets see if the Cats have learned anything from giving up on Calvillo and Collaros.

"We're not good enough" was my favourite part.

"We're not good enough" was my favourite part. unfortunately for Orlondo that only applies to players as he and his coaches get a free pass because they are not a problem.

As much as I’d like to see both Evans and BLM with the team, my head tells me it’s likely Dane has played his last game here. Which is a shame, as he’s one of the few qbs we’ve scouted and developed to be a starter and at 29 still has a lot of untapped potential.
If BLM had wanted to take on the older mentor/cagey vet backup spot he could have easily stayed with Calgary. I think the competitive fire still burns there and he wants to be the guy somewhere. They could possibly save some cap space with a signing bonus in 2022 and possibly try to rework Dane’s contract, but I’m not sure that is fair to either guy. Dane could possibly go west and have a chance to challenge for a starting spot in a place like Sask or BC if Rourke gets an NFL shot. And Bo probably doesn’t want to have Dane looking over his shoulder the way everyone touted Maier in Calgary since 2021. Also tying up money in both Dane and Bo precludes signing one or two other big names in free agency, possibly a big name receiver, defensive end or db.
Steinauer knows he’s on the hot seat here and there’s a tremendous amount of pressure with hosting the Cup in the last year of his contract. If the team slips further most fingers point back to him. Wasn’t sure what the strategy would be for 2023, but it looks like they may try to shoot for the moon and go on a spending spree, while possibly ditching a lot of older vets to make cap room.

How bad would this org look if they couldn't get a deal done with BLM?
Both QBs' agents know they've had substandard years, both may recommend a discounted deal. Or the team may finally break the bank, because they got raked over the coals for losing the GC at home last year.
Regardless of what happens, unless there's changes at the coaching level, I feel this is more window dressing.
