Ugh, I seriously hate this time of year. Nothing going on & yes, the league dropped the ball by not hyping up the combine. They really should address this with TSN as well. If TSN wants exclusivity, they should be promoting the league in the off-season. Run the best games from the previous year or 2, etc.

Since media these days copies each other, how about TSN do something like "CFL in 30" like Sportsnet does with Blue Jays games? Condense a 3-hour football game into a half-hour broadcast.

There could be a "CFL in 30" game of the week during the off-season.

There could be a "CFL in 30" game of the week during the off-season. It would be a good idea. The mic’d up show probably requires more editing and doesn’t really give you a sense of how the game went. String together highlights of the best game and you could probably sell it to ESPN as well.

Surprised the Stein/Simoni story is getting more play. "Nobody's job is guranteed" is cliche of course but this is specific. Were it Austin it would have set Drew Edward's hair on fire ( is Austin splitting the locker room by threatening the team leader ?) . Would have thought the Simoni's not washed up crowd would have came to his defense. Maybe because it's Stein. Teflon. Not much sticks.

Somehow Stein doesn't get knocked for supposedly picking a terrible, non starting QB over a capable one and giving up on him half a year later. If Evans is as bad as they would have you believe, Stein should be wearing it. Instead he's somehow not at fault. Austin was criticised for picking Collaros over Burris....

Also, Jones was largely given a pass for picking Masoli over Collaros. It's like these fuckers will take any short-term gain to lull themselves back to sleep for 6 months until the next failure sets them off again. But they never direct their ire at the one who's making the decisions.

I think the Stein defenders look at it this way.Stein made the right decision in keeping Evans over Masoli BUT it was Evans who blew his opportunity when given the job as undisputed starter. Never mind what contributed to the bad quarterbacking (O-line issues, receiver issues, play calling etc.)

I made a "1A/1B LB combo" comment but it gut burried.

Panel was surprised by the pick, but they must feel like they're set this year.

Panel was surprised by the pick, but they must feel like they're set this year. Trust the process.
