Argos favourites to sign J Davis? What the hell is going on. Argos going hard after Davis, BC going hard after Wynn, Crickets regarding out Allstar DBs.... Getting Simoni back is big, but this Defense going to be in shambles at this rate.

Sounds like this guy is injury prone.

Sounds like this guy is injury prone. How desperate was this guy to get out of town (or the Lions to shed him) that a presumably modest raise was enough to leave his hometown and hometown team ?

He was set to make $200k this year. BC took that money and gave it to Whitehead/Burnham/Lawler.... But doesn't explain the over $50k pay cut he took. Here I thought the Cats aggressively went after someone. This seems more on brand. Throw an offer out like a Kijiji purchase and hope the guy takes it.

For whatever its worth Durants departure barely warranted a mention on Lionbackers.

Not surprised they got him at a bit of a bargain. If he comes back healthy he could be productive for us at slotback. There aren’t really any Canadian receivers I see out there available who stood out last year. Cottoy seems to be everybody’s pick right now but hasn’t exactly broken out yet either after 2-3 seasons. Brescacin has nice size but also seems to be on ir list a lot - and didn’t make many plays in the east final matched up against an undersized Adeleke. We’re only tied in for a year. Let’s give this guy a chance.

Let’s give this guy a chance. My concern isn't the addition of Durant, if it was coupled with a Weineke or Burnham. I want this team to aggressively go after a couple free agents. Top free agents. The way teams are going after ours. If Durant is our biggest signing and we lose Acklin, I don't see how we're making our team better. Just swapping out pieces to see if they fit better. I'm not down on Durant. It just doesn't feel like a sure thing.

I think we’d all like to see Acklin come back or another solid vet there. Durant as a Canadian starter is an upgrade in my eyes over Ungerer so to me that was a good move. But for sure he could be a dud, just like any free agent signing.
Free agency window really extends until camp opens, it’s hard to always judge sweepstakes winners on day 1. We’ll lose some guys early to be sure, but that doesn’t mean opportunities won’t come available to us later on.

Sounds like the team's doing their "one official signing per day" routine during the "tampering window" of players that have likely been signed for weeks/months. Imagine if they "officially" sign Breaux on the last day before FA actually starts?
