There's lots of chatter on The Prowl about starting Frost/Tagovaiola ahead of BLM for the remainder of the season.
I'm of two minds on this: it's an audition for a roster spot for next season/actual game film for the NFL window; and admitting it's time to punt on the season and NOT play competitive football.
I know they are vastly different sports, but parallels with the Blue Jays exist. In baseball, it's an unwritten rule that for the integrity of the game, you play as competitively as possible. This means that you don't have a pitcher miss a start so some AAA arm can get his first MLB start.
If a team throws in the towel with 8 games remaining, I believe that it's an insult to the paying fans and the opposing teams (and THEIR fans).
There IS such a thing as "being a spoiler" and potentially altering another team's chances of playoff positioning; in either Division.
Thoughts?

While I don't believe Bo is the main cause for our record, Milo very publicly indicated Powell was going to be our starter. This created the very awkward situation we have now. Bo might see the writing is on the wall & have checked out. I find that unlikely imo, but it's possible.
Personally, I don't believe anyone on the team is just giving up. If they were, then why replace Washington mid stream?

As long as the 'Cats are mathematically still alive in the playoff race then there is no doubt that they have to start BLM and try to get as many wins as possible. Once they are officially eliminated from making the playoffs (whenever that might be) then it's time for the auditions. I mean eventually they must see what Frost and Tags can do in a game situation so that they can evaluate.

If you've declared BLM persona non grata, in a football sense, How does M, or any coach, crawl that back ? Like Sig said its that or an 8 game QB open competition.(A real one not a Stein one). Which is essentially pulling the chute on 2024.

Washington was replaced as they have seen that the amount of people actually attending the games decline and without the attempt to do something it would get worse. At the end of the day this moves seems to be more of an act of desperation by the organization. That, however, just may be the cynic in me coming out as I do not view any move that the current brass makes as genuine.
As for continuing with Bo, why would they do that? Just trade him or release him as he wont be back next year.

These are my feelings on the Washington firing. It was done because the ownership has seen the increasing comments about boycotts and not renewing season tickets. This is a good thing, by the way, because even if it was done cynically something positive happened. Remember, 10 months ago this was an "astonishing" organization, according to Mr.Young. Not that I expect anything less from this huckster ,but it seems "astonishing" was typical hyperbole from a BS artist/salesman...

I also think Washington being fired was opportunistic with Jones available and being able to work for free. Otherwise the opps cap could have got us.

I doubt the attendance was any kind of a factor. I think everyone in the org actually wants to win; the problem is, not all of them are qualified.

If the loses continue to mount I can only hope that actual attendance continues to decline. Hitting them in the pocket book is really the only way Cats ownership will take action.

For me, nothing short of a total house cleaning will be acceptable. All scouts and front office folks should be told so long and thanks for the fish. I think that Milanovich should get one more season with a full mandate to staff the coaching side of things with his choices.
As for the operations cap, I truly wish that HSG would serve the league notice that Ambrosie can shove it where the sun does not shine. Honestly, screw the loss of draft picks as the cats cant draft worth a damn anyways.
Rebuilding the Operations side of the business should take precedence over honouring a cap that has done nothing but actually hurt the league.

As for BLM, I give him the next game and if the team does not win then either he gets traded or holds a clip board for the remainder of the season. There should be no next season with him as neither is a good fit for each other.
