Wouldn't it be nice to get a public comment out of Mitchell/HSG to mollify the fanbase ? I know it won't happen but pro sports franchise owners have been known to do this after missing the postseason.

As much as I want to see the Cats win the Cup every season I think that them missing the playoffs can be a good thing long term for the team. This team does not have enough talent to compete with most of the league on a week to week basis. I know Crash may disagree with that but I do not think that this team had nearly enough talent to do anything useful in the playoffs. While the defence was much improved it was still weak in both the secondary and even the linebackers. The offence, while they put up some good numbers I just found they were too easily shutdown when it truly counted by the better teams in the league.
There is too much ineptitude in the front office and even among some of the coaches on the team. I personally want to see a full scale front office change first of all and secondly Milanovich being given full authority to put his coaching staff full in place. No hold overs from Stein years allowed unless Milanovich wants said coach.

Whats particularly frustrating about missing playoffs is OTT was ripe for the picking.

Injuries have really hurt Ottawa but they were never as good as their record - squeaked by some soft competition including us. They were due for a correction and I don’t see them beating Argos or Mtl either. Seemed like BC mismanaged the Rourke/Adams situation but they have not been a physical enough team over the last three years to really challenge in the west. O-line and D-line won’t keep up with Wpg and Sask. Teams started to shut their passing game down and despite having Stanback they can’t compensate in the run game like Wpg and Oliveira.

From the 3DN articla about Rourke "not getting a chance due to the CFL" article:
"The 26-year-old signed a three-year contract with B.C. that includes $749,200 in hard money in 2025 and $809,000 in hard money in 2026. There are $6,000 in award incentives available in both seasons, taking his earning potential to $755,200 and $815,000 respectively each year."
Hord to see how they can keep VAJ on the roster at $500k, along with Betts. That's a LOT of Cap money spent on three players...
Of course, how much of that is "Cap money" and how much is "Marketing money" is yet to be determined...

450 yards, 5 TDs, and an unfortunate pick-6. Over 5000-yards on the season, 31 TDs, and a legitimate MOP candidate. And still, idiots on the other site are asking if we should keep him next year.

We have a personnel problem - Dunnigan pretty-much said that about the Defence last nieht.

I know this season has sucked because of our record, but man we've been rather fortunate to avoid the rebuild "3-5 win dumpster fire while cycling QBs" situation like so many other teams have dealt with over the past decade.
We are arguably the 3rd to 5th best team in the league right now (Better than Ottawa, Edmonton, Calgary, BC and possibly Toronto)
If we bring back the core of this team and build on defence I see this as an 11-12 win team. But the defense needs to improve and rookies like Bridges and Bell need to also up their game.
