I've been a fan for 87.3 years and I've never seen fans give up like this. Reminds me of the time I was having breakfast with Carl Voyles at the old coffee shop at the Royal Connaught. We both ordered shnorgle and eggs which is what we called ham in those days, Big sign out front "Best Shnorgle And Eggs In Town 59 Cents." Anyway, our waitress,Betsy, her mum was friends with my mum because they played bridge together on Wednesdays before she got the rheumatism. Betsy's aunt was the church organist at the old Hess Street United Church before it burned down. We didn't go there because my dad thought the minister was a communist. So Carl points out that his fligflam was too hot. Fligflam is what we used to call coffee at the time because of the war.. Lmao! |

So anyway..does anyone try "sure, it was bad but there were signs of progress, did some good things out there" optimism defense of the regime ? or.... for the sake of my sanity... how much of a curve to we need to grade this game on? are we talking like... keep it within 4 scores? get Butler to a respectable rushing total against his old team? limit to less than 3 turnovers? get a defensive score? score more than 6 points on offense? i'm honestly not sure... kinda dreading next week in the same fashion... please halp |

To me it boils down to the eye test. Is this team competitive.Could it be competitive.Are BC mistakes masking things etc.? brother, we just lost to a semi-pro team by two scores at home last week.... i don't think competitive comes into it Sure, but then what's the point of grading anything tonight ? Again, tonight's the night the wheels all come off , imo. |

More TE sets for pass protection More plays to Powell's strengths, while limiting his weaknesses. I know this is Sports 101, but... Improved O-Line play - pipe dream I know Stringing together drives Limiting penalties - especially the Misconducts. A VERY LOUD message should be sent to the players that the next Misconduct penalty gets you benched and (hopefully) sent to the PR. Recievers who will actually put in the effort to make plays/catches. No more alligator-arms (Timmeh) and drops. Block for your team-mates and ALWAYS run your route as if the ball is coming to you.
These are not dificult things to achieve - it's basic Football. Honestly, I would be happy if half of those things were accomplished, because that's 50% better than the season so far...

You know..... it's one of the easiest bets I've EVER seen if you take the Lions, but sure as hell if I bet on the game the 'Cats will cover for sure. I'm not betting so everybody is safe. If you want to make easy money take the Lions. |
