Stein and the boys have basically blown up last year's defence. They have signed some very good players but is it too much change? You would think that it's going to take some time to play as a cohesive unit since it's mostly a bunch of new players mingling in with a few of the returnees. I guess it will finally be revealed if it is the players or the coaching that have held us back in the past. Ah yes, time to gel. Excuse number 1 for Stein. We should start a list. "Tough night out there, coach, what happened" ? "We didn't execute". "Um, yeah, you've been saying that a lot the last couple of years. You have almost a whole new roster of players so maybe its, I dunno, coaching?" "The new guys need time to gel and find chemistry." "How long will that take do you think ?" "You'll know when they start executing" ""Ok, but..." "Next question." |

Im encouraged by some things too. But when you think the HC and DC aren't particularly talented, for example, it's a hard thing to get all the way past. |

Team starts slow and we all wait for things to click. We get "hot" against bad teams and finish 10-8/11-7 and lose a heartbreaker sometime in Nov. |

Difficult to imagine anything short of a GC can be spun into a success. Stein, however, will be defended for trying.

I'd love to be wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is the year the bloom falls off O's rose. Hes definitely at a crossroads here. Fourth year behind the bench and a second full season in full control of football ops. Ownership looks to be giving full support. Barring any catastrophic injuries, you’d think the team has to be a serious contender for the east crown at minimum for a contract extension. And I don’t see any pushovers in the east this year. |

We have seen what can be accomplished with a team that has talent. 2021 and 2022 didn't have the talent needed - especially to START the season - O-line especially.
