I'm having Jason Jimenez flashbacks Still remember him taking out Brent Johnson’s knees from behind after a whistle. Think he got a one game suspension- was never sad to see him go. As for Duke and Edwards, when they get down to playing football, they’re both excellent players. Just need to keep their sh*t together. Not as worried about Williams since I think he’s got something to prove. Edwards I could see getting turfed from a game. I’d wager Labour Day. |

Breathes some life into STs, hopefully.. Another unit that needs a makeover while we're at it. Him and Noel are tailored for special teams - don’t see either getting regular time with starters on offence or defence. Might not see Newton back, Beeksma likely takes a bigger role too. |

It’s not so much that I think he can’t play, but Hamilton hasn’t really given any Canadian linebackers much of a chance at starting, outside of a couple of games to Fred Plesius. Shortill had starting potential and replaced Simoni during his 2019 suspension- didn’t look out of place imo. Grant MacDonald in his draft year was talked of as a potential starter in the middle, and Nic Cross was looked at as a guy who could play at SAM. This would have been the year to take a look at him but looks like Edwards will man the spot. If Sopik can come in and play defence, all the better but I think he was mainly brought in to replace Newton. |
