Cheers: Hills. He's a force. Again, kudos to braintrust for plugging him in. Oline..from a catastrophe to a stable unit. Gibson should get credit but this is Hamilton. Defense: Needed to exploit their major weakness and they did.
Jeers: 3rd consecutive game with major ST breakdown. Flipside our STs don't generate breakdowns. At all. 70 yds penalties. Emotional bonehead variety. Not going on 3 and 1 seemed like small thinking. Did we get jobbed on Fraudjardo's intentional grounding call ?
Misc: New recs don't look like unearthed gems. But not bad either. But this team doesn't need more avg recs. Game was on brand for '22. An underwhelming win, some mitigating circumstances, frustrating deficiencies. Heaven forfend to be accused of being a fake fan, so. Hooray we won.

Really wanted a better explanation on the Intentional Grounding call and why it wasn't a safety... given where it was thrown from...

Really wanted a better explanation on the Intentional Grounding call and why it wasn't a safety... given where it was thrown from... It's actually quite simple. The ball was over the goal line in the field of play, so it wasn't a Safety. Proulx said it correctly. Think of it as an illegal forward pass. As long as one part of the passer is behind the LOS, it's a legal pass these days.

Smith rightly pointed out it was a killer penalty given the field position battle . So does TSN look at at it again and explain it? Nope. Ditto Micah Johnson penalty and intentional grounding call. But, instead of a halftime interview, they just gotta have that in-booth interview to ask "so what are your memories ?.."

But, instead of a halftime interview, they just gotta have that in-booth interview to ask "so what are your memories ?.." Misconduct penalties infuriate me, because they are (mostly) unnecessary. It was hilarious when Simoni, in civvies, goaded a SSK player into committing one.
The IG call was correct. True, TSN does a poor job of explaining penalties, but Proulx was correct in all of them - the dribble, the IG, etc.
The NFL broadcasts (and probably NCAA ones too) have retired refs to explain calls. Might be an idea for TSN to copy.
As much as I hate in-booth interviews, I enjoyed this one. Danny can really talk your ear off - especially if a pint of beer is in his hand.

Danny is a bright, articulate dude. It kills me that we didn't retain him after his playing days were over. I remember back in 2000 or so, he & Darren were at the Hortons at Sanford & Cannon on a Saturday morning. I heard about it on the radio & went in to see them. Got a mini football signed by both of them. Can't be more precise with the year, but I remember telling them to kick some Argo ass the following week. Sad part is, there was no huge crowd there, or any kind of wait to see them.

Incredible dudes. As I mentioned, I hope that his next visit to THF is as our new GM.

@dork TSN has been absolutely brutal on that for most of the year, *although* I'll give Duane Ford credit, was refreshingly good at being "new fan informative" yesterday, drew out a couple things on screen that my gf was asking about in game (mainly the onside punt) so props there. It would be great to have some sort of recap of these calls, say after the game, would have been neat to see say the goal line angle on that IG call (but sig, i'm on your side on this one, first interview I didn't super mind being played over the game )

Love Danny Mac. Worthy of WofH. But the in booth interviews are almost always death. Everything is rushed. Takes away from the guest of honour and the game.

Do we really need to see Sanchez nd Kate flirting about bets they've made? Unfortunately, it seems that gambling is imbedded into every sports show on every channel. Tim & Friends is virtually a two-hour-long gambling advertisement. 3/4 of the other "regular" ads are for gambling too - both sports and casino apps.

please don't mess with my kate beirness time That's fair. She's the only good thing about the panel. Sanchez & Stegall are both awful, Dunigan should retire. Naylor isn't bad, but he's only there if Dunigan is doing colour. Hasn't been really good since Schultzie left
