If this team gets lucky and prevents the Saskatchewan cross-over does it mean that they have accomplished something this season by making the playoffs? I mean that is the goal of every team before the season starts. Make the playoffs and then the anything can happen theory. I guess it really doesn't matter because Stein is going to get another chance next year regardless of what happens this year. Really torn on what I actually want to see happen.

Getting into the playoffs just gives the team (and the fans) false hope. Missing the playoffs (and the game/gate revenue) may be the wake-up call that Ownership needs in order to force some sort of change.
I fear that firing Orlondo would have to be a clean sweep - from El Presidente, through the multiple-GM offices, to the head coach, and coordinators. Would Orlondo the Head Coach still want to be here if Orlondo the Prez is fired? Will a new Prez bring in his own guy for GM? Would that GM still want to keep Orlondo, or bring in HIS guy? Will the new HC want to keep the coordinators/assistant HCs, or bring in his own guys?

O is a Football coach. He won't be doing any other role than what he's doing now, or he won't be here. And he's certainly not going to take a demotion, why would he? And as Pope says he's going to get next year at the bare minimum, so we should probably just prepare for it for good and bad.

For most of my fan-life a bad undermanned team exploiting a weak division and sneaking into playoffs was the TC formula for success.
All this is old hat for some of us.
I'm too lazy to point out the irony that a serious owner was supposed to change that culture permanently.

The problem with a blowup is that ownership has yet to prove (in 20 years) that they can establish and execute on an organizational direction without making it up as they go along. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll open up the wallet since revenues have to be down this year.

"Yeah, we lost, but it was the greatest GC game ever played." Are you f*cking kidding me??

It's starting to feel like Bob Young is trolling the fanbase.

Agree about making the playoffs. It's a pretty long shot that we would finish ahead of Mtl, and even if we do make the playoffs, we'd have to win 3 games on the road where we're 0-7 so far this year. If O gets turfed, I don't think there's any way he stays in a reduced capacity. What does that say to the rest of the team & management? This is why I'm in favour of blowing it up now. Kick O to the curb, let's see if the coordinators change on their own to try to at least be better for the rest of the year. Then, either a new GM or HC can decide if they've shown enough to warrant keeping them. Maybe Steinauer is the one holding them back? He could be overriding them on personnel or playcalling decisions. There's no way for us to know. The D in particular looks a lot like his when he was the D coordinator.

Closely followed by the 96GC.

Not for a second do I believe there will be big changes next year. They will do some half-arsed things like swap out Condell for Khari and one or two new assistants and fans will slap their flippers together like trained seals.
But, yeah, a blowup is very high risk but its mitigated by the fact we have a legit QB and it will still be a weakish division. Im also angry and disappointed and I want people to pay for that.
