Good faith question : Was there ever a real danger of him leaving ? I bet there was a chance, however small, that Masoli re-signed first on the strength of his GC performance off the bench. Had that happened, I'm sure Dane would have left to be a starter elsewhere. I'm so relieved that the staff sees Evans as the starter of the future. What should be happening more quickly is our other important pieces falling into place like Adeleke, Wynn & Davis.

Winnipeg has had no issues bringing everyone back.

I am happy Dane has resigned but I have to wonder if it is only because of Masoli's vaccination status. If Masoli was fully vaxxed then would it be Dane that was signed or Masoli? One never knows with this regime but signing Evans is an admission, finally, that hes the future. Stein honoured whatever bargain he struck with Masoli and now franchise can finally turn the page. Pity team wasted all that time and essentially robbed Evans of a year of pro development. And potentially a Cup victory. If the team had a bye in the playoffs, who knows? Craptastic kicking and the complete inability to sustain 4th-quarter drives allowing comebacks all season ensured the final standings.

The Evans/Masoli affair and the regime's refusal to load up for a GC year is something I'll never get past, frankly. It'll go down the memory hole for most but for this fan...
