Thrilled. Like Christmas for me.
Coache. You're gonna be seeing a lot more of us for the next 2 years.

It's good to have some financial incentives heading into camp. If he wins the competition he will certainly play a lot more. Can't have that much money sitting on the bench.

Doesn't this make you wonder if this was the plan all along? If so, what the hell were we doing last year? If Coach was convinced Masoli was the guy for essentially the entire regular season, and East Semi... And half the East final... Wouldn't Masoli coming within 1 catch of winning the Grey Cup not solidify his opinion? It really makes you wonder what the hell was going on behind closed doors last year.

Sounds like Condell is likely back (though not confirmed).

Feel like the entire season was spent making the "safe" call. points, automatic first downs and 2 pt conversions left on the field... last year's "starter" getting his chance, because he was the starter before he got hurt... dunno, lack of balls on Coach O's part, but i'm choosing to be happy that Dane's back for at least 2 more.

Ain't buyin' it Stein. You stole a year from him to keep a shortsighted promise.

I fully believe that Dane's strip in the East Final is what put this decision over the top. The lift it gave the team was palpable, & what led to him getting the start in the GC. I said it then & I'll say it again: that was the single greatest play I've ever seen by a Ticat QB. You can't coach leadership like that. Masoli's vaccination status was probably a factor as well. He needs to get fully vaxxed if he wants to play for anyone next year. Inside track has to be Ottawa, unless he wants to come back here for backup money, which I can't see happening.
Now that the biggest chunk of cap has been put in place, it'd be nice to see our other important pieces sign before FA officially starts.

Can't say I would have blamed him. Only a cynic would think Stein took advantage of Evans's dispostition. If he was more edgey (sometimes I wish he was) the whole situation could have gone sideways and we'd be seeing the dawn of the Harris era.

Great news, Dane has proven he is the starter for this team. No disrespect to Jeramiah he has always been a pro while here during his ups and downs.

I am happy Dane has resigned but I have to wonder if it is only because of Masoli's vaccination status. If Masoli was fully vaxxed then would it be Dane that was signed or Masoli?

One never knows with this regime but signing Evans is an admission, finally, that hes the future. Stein honoured whatever bargain he struck with Masoli and now franchise can finally turn the page. Pity team wasted all that time and essentially robbed Evans of a year of pro development.

Good faith question : Was there ever a real danger of him leaving ?
