Clearly recall him stating his relatively undersized D-line in 94-95 was deliberate because his theory was big men are gassed by the 4th qtr and less effective. By '97 he realized his approach was a hinderance. But rather than double down as pride often dictates he procedes to build a D line and unit that dominated the league for the next 4 years. As Crash pointed out it takes a special person to set aside ego and he did it again to accept DC role in the Lancaster hire.
Best of all he was rewarded for it. RIP.

Yeah I remember not thinking much of it at the time, we thought June Jones was in that group by being Os coordinator and I genually think he would have if his XFL opportunity didn't come up.
Can't think of any other examples of that happening although I'm sure there was more.
Always seemed like a class act all around
