Wow, the CFLPA really went to town on this one. ANY player who hasnt received a roster bonus after Dec 21st is eligible.
Discuss.

Interesting wording in the opt out waiver.
I am aware that by opting out, I am not eligible to sign with any other CFL Club or in any other professional football league other than the NFL during the term of my SPC and should I wish to return to the CFL during the term of my SPC and I’m fit to play skilled football, I must return to [previous CFL team] and sign a new contract for the exact amounts and term of my previously terminated contract.
It does appear both sides are trying to clear some hurdles to get players to sign longer than 1 year deals. This is a good thing. The biggest hurdle will be the lack of any guaranteed funds. I.e. Charlston Hughes and many other players that will get cut before roster bonuses are due. I do love the sentiment from those that back the teams with "well the teams cant afford guaranteed money?" - why the hell not? If you agree to pay a player $120k and after 1 year he isnt worth it, thats your problem. Why should you get the benefit of the cap space for making a poor decision? As long as he's healthy and able to report to camp, something should be guaranteed. If you want to cut the player - you're on the hook for it.
Enough with this one way nonsense.
