The one most immediately relevant is the bummers' upset of us in 2019. This one has the potential for an upset: losing team still has several players from that loss on it, the lost 2020 season prolonged that sense of a missed opportunity, losing team is playing in front of their home fans, winning team may be overconfident from both their excellent regular season record & overcoming a 6 turnover performance in the west final. And not a single thing has changed. If anything we are significantly weaker at O-line. OTH Condell and Washington have had two years to mull this over. O line has to come to play, and this time right from the opening kickoff. Not sure how much of a factor this may be, but bummers haven't played in our house this year, so there may be some unfamiliarity with wind currents, etc. Add to that it's December & for sure the crowd is going to be amped.

No Frankie Wms. A starting DB and ST threat. Story has gotten remarkably little play in over a month. One expects this from local media of course but surprised its been barely touched on elsewhere.

Sun article on Banks. Worth reading. Has anxiety issues. Accepts smaller role on team.

Sun article on Banks. Worth reading. Has anxiety issues. Accepts smaller role on team. From direct personal experience, it's HARD to ask for help; especially if you're an extreme Type-A personality like so many athletes. I got the therapy I needed, NEEDED the medications, until I didn't, and now have the tools to cope when things all seem to come crashing down on my head.
“My health issues, I believe, were enhanced because of COVID, coming here, leaving my family at home, not being able to see my kids. My kids can’t come to see me, me having to get vaccinated and I don’t really agree with that. All of this took me to a lot of places mentally. I’ve had to deal with a lot."
A lot to parse in this paragraph. First of all, he didn't HAVE to get vaccinated. There are tonnes of restrictions lifted when you ARE vaccinated, however. Something like being able to attend a large sporting event as a fan (at least he had the smarts to ask the League before going to a Raptors game) and going to a restaurant. I'm not going to argue restrictions and politics, but with 1,453 cased in thes Province yesterday, and the emerging threat of the Omicron variant, it's probably better to have the jabs, no?
Second, he's FAR from the only one who couldn't bring his family or visit them. However, in years past, his son would visit him for a couple of months during the season. I'm sure everyone's MH has been affected by the pandemic, but it's exponentially harder when you have (essentially) un-treated MH conditions.
Kudos for the Team to reach out to him (and probably a LOT of other players, as alluded to in the article) and providing the help he needs.

Win it for Teddy.
His absence forces the team to start Kats at S and Adeleke at HB, so basically the same way they played the past few games on Defence. It also forces them to dress Daly as backup DB (ouch - love the guy, but he doesn't have the physical ability any more, IMHO).
