I posted this in the CFL main forum. Collaros was in street clothes last night on the Winnipeg bench. He was listed as the third quarterback on the game depth chart. As far as I know, CFL rules stipulate that three quarterbacks must be dressed for the game. Last year the 'Cats were forced to sign and dress N'Kosi Perry (without any practice time) who was signed the day before the June 23 home game vs. Montreal because Mitchell was unable to dress for that game. Perry was released following the game. Did the Bombers violate the rule?

From CFL.db roster rules
Teams can dress 2 quarterbacks, but cannot use the roster spot for another position, and will dress a 44 player game roster instead.

If that is the case then I wonder if that rule was changed prior to this season. The rule may have been different last year and that's why the 'Cats were forced to sign Perry who never even practiced with the team. |
