Looks like Constantinou beat out both Vedvik and Flint. Interesting. Ternowski to the PR. I guess one "outstanding" catch does not count for much. Finally casted-out Bennett and Frederico. Good. Bayless cut - I thought he might have a leg up, but...

The way Vedvik was kicking FGs makes me believe that he won't be out of work long.

Can someone do a rookie, new face head count ? Roster now sits at 55 players which means they will have to move 10 players to the 6-game and 1-game injured lists before game 1 in Calgary. From those 55 players there are 16 rookies and 13 new CFL vets which is 29 new faces.

Not gonna get excited over this team yet, but we won exactly zero with the guys who have been let go over the last couple of years, so panic is nowhere near to being an option either.

I usually give it two games - that should give us a sense of how all the new starters fit in. Opening against two other teams who missed playoffs last year and are unknowns at this point, you would hope they can pull off at least one win. If Bo stays healthy I have some optimism, if not it could be a long year.

Glass half full: A badly needed infusion of talent.
Glass half empty: "A loss for every rookie you have on the field".

It's the cats, so typically, its the first 4 games to see if they can drag their asses back to .500 or not... this is the first season in quite a while where the first game actually feels important.... like tone setting important.... like we'll know what we're getting pretty chuckin early this year. Game two's biggest coin flip is whether or not THFs concessions are worth a damn this year

This is one of the better opening four games of the schedule we've seen in a long time. It always seemed like there was a visit to Winnipeg during this early part of the schedule. The toughest game so far looks like the one in Saskatchewan but I'm glad to face Trevor Harris anytime. At Calgary, home to the Riders, and then off to Regina and Ottawa to start. I'm expecting no less than a 2 and 2 record to start the season. Am I getting my hopes up too high?

even with three road games, it seems less daunting than the usual
-winnipeg's home opener -ssk on the road -home vs ssk -home vs BC on a thursday for some reason
type nonsense

Cuts across the league of guys who stick out to me for kicking the cats in the berries several times over the last few years:
Calgary: Titus Wall (seemed to absolutely eat our lunch in 2022)
SSK: Brayden Lenius (kinda surprised the cats don't take a flyer on this one tbh)
MTL: Smoke Monday (nothing really here... but WHAT A NAME?!?!?)
Ott: Cooper Hamilton (again... just seems like a good name opportunity... that said maybe don't try to go after a guy that couldn't crack ottawa's top 5)
Elks: *crickets*
BC: Marcus Sayles... little long in the tooth, but seemed like he looked good enough in the games i saw last year
WPG: whole lotta cuts, not a lot of name recognition here.
TOR: McFadden... wouldn't be surprised to see him float down the QEW for a minute BJ Bird seemed to run at will last week against our 3rd and 4th stringers, also feels like a wasted opportunity for a toronto team
