He could have gone to Mtl after leaving Edm Was offered a contact? Not sure, but the Als are probably the team with the most close to home players in the league. Instead, Betts went further west to BC. Might mean he's not big on being close to home. If we do go after him hard, I'd expect the Argos to try to drive up the price.

Or, if you're referring to how they'll be able to afford all 3, I doubt they would actually sign him. They'll just drive the price up so we'll waste cap space.

I like him too. A few years younger than STE who they likely don’t re-sign now and possibly less injury prone. Pretty competent as a runner, he can spell off Butler.

Being shocked at anything Hervey does.

It doesn't take a particular genius GM to throw money at players. Rob Katz and Marcel D did that. But what would separate Hervey, on field success aside, from that lot? No bad trades?

Pretty big slap in the face to Butler, but also gives me hope that we'll land Betts. If Hervey went that hard for a Cdn RB, hopefully he'll do the same for a Cdn DE.

By all accounts he’s laid out the money for Betts, ball is in the player’s court. If they don’t land him, I wonder what the strategy is for starting Canadians - Diallo/Bennett rotating on dline? Sopik re-signed to take over Simoni’s spot? Adeleke coming back at SAM lb? Mayala as a second Cdn receiver? This year’s draft is going to be pretty important so we don’t keep winding up in these situations.
