I don't think Scott Mitchell is going anywhere, but they cannot keep Steinauer, & I don't think they will. If he had have pulled out the GC in 2021, that would've been a different story, but his way just doesn't produce results. I also don't buy it that Young/Mitchell don't care about being better than .500 oh I think they'd like to be better than .500. but that has its limits

The right thing to do...well in my opinion that is...is if he is to remain employed by the Cats then he moves to the front office only and let Milanovich be the HC. Then work with him to get him the players he needs for his system.
I would not mind Milanovich being the OC as well provided he has some strong coaches for the offense. I am fundamentally against coaches holding front office rolls for any reason while they are coaching players.

As long as Scott Mitchell is in charge and interfering with the football operations I do not believe that the cats will ever win.

remember. There's people that think no matter what the team does, attendance will never suffer. They're very naive.

It's honestly disturbing to chart the decline in my enthusiasm since they gave away the GC in 2021. I don't know if it's just me getting older or what, and I certainly don't know if I'm representative of any cross-section of the fanbase, but I would have considered myself a die hard prior to that game, and now...if they're losing others the way they are with me, and they end up with a less casual fanbase, there's going to come a time when fans walk away en masse & we'll be back in Yachetti/Grant/Macdonald crisis mode.

From the Austin era onward there was almost always something there to generate optimism. Optimism keeps fans hanging on and receptive to head office decisions and buying into stuff. The regime now walks a tightrope over credibility and commitment to winning and the appearance of lurching year to year throwing darts at the board. 2024 will be the tipping point. It has to be.

I think much of the fanbase is in the same boat as us, tired of being sold false hope each off season. What they have peddled as gold the last two years since the Grey Cup loss amounts to nothing more then fools gold.
I think rolling back with the same coaching staff and front office structure next season will bite them in the rear end and potentially be the franchises undoing. Orlondo has in every season since 2019 proved incapable of actually managing QB's and has shown nothing but stunning ineptness at building an Oline.
This front office is woefully bad at talent evaluation compared with past regimes and without changes in personnel we can expect much of the same.

I feel EXACTLY the way you do Count regarding the decline in my enthusiasm since the 2021 Grey Cup loss. For the last 25 years I've had my seasons tickets with two similar aged friends and we all question the same things. Does our lack of enthusiasm involve getting older and that we're just a bunch of miserable old men or are we just generally fed up how this team is run? This season was brutal to go through but I attribute that to the fact the Stein regime was brought back intact so you kind of expected what was coming. After our free agent signings, which most fans were generally excited about, my hopes were raised slightly. Once the annual slow start to the season began you knew what was coming and it was back to WTF. If Stein is brought back for 2024 (there is no way I can stomach another season of him) we are all considering to not renew seasons tickets and maybe go to some select games if we feel it is worth it. Friends of ours always buy the cheapest seats outside the stadium on game days and once inside the stadium they sit in good seats that are open through out the stadium. Sadly this might be the best way to go.

Wonder if the franchise realizes this...or cares?
