Former CFL/Ticat coach , John Gregory passed away last week at 84. Coached here during the mostly financial nightmare years of 91-94. An eleven win season in 92 then the money dried up . It got so bad he was paying out of pocket for hotel bills on road trips. Couldnt afford training camp at Brock. Subway subs to eat. Player brawls in HAM and WPG. It got really, really bad, folks. But never badmouthed the city or what was left of organization when he had every right to. Salut.

Old "Barney Rubble". His biggest game as a Ticat coach was probably his first. Trouncing the powerhouse Argos 48-24 in the 1991 Labour Day classic behind the unlikely Canadian running back tandem of Lee Knight and Ernie Schramayr.

Comeback win vs OTT in 92 Semi was nice. Obliterated in EF @ WPG not nice. Came close to winning the final @ WPG the next year. Ozzy kicking into into wind falling about 5 yards short dead centre. Tribulations of the Brayley/Yachetti/Michaluk era was book worthy. Spec, of course, just touched on some issues but we never really got the full story and probably never will.
