So satisfying.
When you break camp all you can ask for is to get into the dance.
Knowing that we're 7-10 and don't even have to win next week is so great, this team should be proud of it's accomplishments.
Sorry. Couldn't help myself.
Maybe we'll catch fire.

I think they were already on fire in the first half of the season, kind of like an old industrial building in Cheektowaga. At least they’ve pulled their socks up and given us some entertainment the last few weeks. We’re capable of hanging with Montreal and Toronto, but can we beat both on the road? Should be interesting. All teams get to rest some guys next week - we’ll see if this translates to better playoff football.

Hamilton would have a home game in TO. Will they? Tune in next week.

Next week should be a treat. 3 hours of "Ottawa has a solid core of players" "a handful of plays from making the playoffs", "fans should optimistic for next year". With a smattering of "watch out for Ham".

It's hard to believe that all four games during the last week of the regular season are meaningless games that have no bearing on the standings for all teams involved. It has to be the first time that this has ever happened. How does TSN try to hype any of these games? Regarding the playoffs, I've told my friends (provided Evans isn't out with injury) that if Hamilton beats Montreal in the semi (which will be hard enough) then they are going to beat the Argos like last year in the final and be the first third place Eastern team to get to the Grey Cup since the 1970 Als.

Congrats to the Ticats for finding a way to get their shit together enough to pull out a play off birth. Frankly I was expecting them to miss the way they played the first half of the season. Another ugly type win but at least the team is finding ways to win instead of lose.
Regarding Ottawa...they have been better and far more competitive since they let Lapo go. While I do not believe they would have finished 500 or better I do believe that with the players they had they underachieved a lot and if they had better coaching for longer the playoff race likely would have come down to next week.

Well, we're in. Hard to be excited about it, because this team is still showing signs of not playing good football at a late stage of the season.
It's good for next week to be a meaningless game; some backups can get some reps & some starters can heal up for the playoffs. If we can beat Mtl at home, Argos are not gonna be happy about playing us in the East Final because our fans will make it a home game. If we make the GC, I'm not sure we have the horses to win. All 3 western teams are going to be tough to beat.

(it's either that or be frustrated about the games to MTL we threw away, and the never should have happened comeback losses to Calgary and Edmonton early in the year that would have put us at 11-6 instead of 7-10)

Even if we were 11-6, Argos beat us soundly & would have the division title, so there's no point in bitching about those losses. That being said, it should be addressed in the off-season. Will it be? Who knows. I don't think I could take losing 3 GCs in a row.

Who is in the "Rest vs Rust" camp? I am in the "Rest and heal" camp, with a heavy emphasis on talent evaluation. IF Dane is healthy enough, he should get the first quarter (as mentioned elsewhere). I would promote as many PR players as possible, with a lot of "injuries" on the 1-game IL.
The (mostly) great fans in Ottawa deserve a home win for once, right?

Agreed MTL is a bigger challenge than TOR.
