My voice is gone this morning & I didn't even really yell that much.
I turned to Tina with 9:24 left when we got the ball on what would become the Ungerer TD drive & said "there's way too much time left". I definitely did not expect a 7 1/2 minute scoring drive, but it was a fantastic response. They had no chance of winning after that. Collaros could only watch.
If you, me & espo ever end up in the same place without the crowd noise, we'd end up breaking some sarcasm meters.

I basically had no voice for 2 days, then trying to talk over the speakers/crowd was vocal suicide.
Oh well. Lets do it again sometime.

- Why the eff did they stick Newman in when Dane was rolling?? Made zero sense. Luckily, that play was procedure against us, Dane came back in & threw a perfect TD pass to Dunbar. I'll say it again: this team does not know how to manage QBs Then didn’t use him on any of the SY - oh, I’m not complaining about that, just hate the way Bighill launches himself right at the QBs head, has done it in every game, everytime. (Have asked several times how that’s not Targeting/Spearing/Launching-IT’S THE DEFINITION!!!) That’s how he jacked his neck up in Toronto EF last year. Wondered the same - why wasnt he in for short yardage? Dane has been very good at short yardage but Newman is pretty darn big. More perplexing decisions.

TSN commentators even remarked on how effective Bighill is at short yardage a couple of times. I've never watched him specifically that closely in those situations, but you're right, he's leading with the crown of his helmet, which would be called on any other play. Maybe it's just accepted on 3rd & short?

They took Newman out in favour of Morton for short yardage on LD, so it makes even less sense. Btw, we were standing in the south end before the game & Micah Johnson was there. That dude is a monster. Like a "you're due back in the lab to have your bolts tightened" type.

It needs to be a point of emphasis in the Off-Season - need to put together a montage of clips showing all the linebackers doing it - it’s clearly against the rules and should not be allowed. Period.

Agreed. If they're serious about protecting QBs, that is. And some of these backups may be future stars (like Dane & every other current starting QB was at some point), so they really have a vested interest in doing so.

There was a strange sequence in the first half I think where we were second and two. Hills had just ripped off an eight yard run. For some strange reason he then came out and we chose to do straight sneaks with Evans. That was one of the few times I questioned the offensive decision making. Either bring in the bigger bodied qb or just hand off to the big tailback. I think Hills gets you the two yards 99/100 times.

I haven't noticed the Bighill thing, but I will watch for that from now on.
I personally can't understand why they don't use Morton on SY too - the man's built like a brich sh!t-house. I DO have a theory, though...
Using Dane in those situations (and at the end of the game too) probably did more for his mental health than doing the "conservative" ting and using the team's biggest, strongest, heaviest QB in SY. I believe this showed Orlondo's confidence in Dane, and Dane got to "finish what he started" in this game.
Taking him out for a play when he was on a roll almost made me throw my remote through my TV. I love the fact that Dane basically gave Orlondo the finger on the absolutely PERFECT TD pass. Four of the TD passes were complete things of beauty with amazing touch on the back-corner fades, the go route to Kiondre, and the laser-guided bullet to Timmeh.
It's amazing to see what a competent O-Line can provide. We had a half-decent running game, the use of Felix G-G at FB/TE is something I have been waiting for from Kalinic and Burt, Dane had TONNES of time to go through his reads (I counted at least three MANY times during the game), linemen were getting upfield to the LBs to block, there was adequate protection on roll-outs, receivers actually had time to run their routes and/or get open (as mentioned by Crash), and Dane looked perfectly comfortable in the pocket.

Turning Point - Once again, when the chips are down good teams get the stop or the drive to seal the game. Winnipeg made it a 10 point game and kicked off with 9 minutes left (Tell me you werent worried) - we scored the Ungerer TD with 1:57 left, making it a 17 point game. That's how to rip games away from the opponent and end them. a 7 minute drive through 2 Winnipeg time outs, the 3 min warning, etc. There was no doubt in my mind with 9 minutes left a 2 and out would have been a disaster. Similar to the East Final last year - a long game ending drive will do it every time.
Dane told me this morning - he and Ungerer haven’t thrown that slot fade since training camp - that was a great way to seal the victory, was worried there was too much time left until he scrambled for the first down, knew the FG/time remaining would be enough to hold on after that - Glad they got the TD instead !!!

The most impressive part of that drive is that everyone knew they were going to run the ball to drain the clock, but Wpg couldn't stop them.

Dane was channeling new CFHoF inductee Ricky Ray with those fades. That was Ray's signiture pass.

The secondary looked weaker but they were up against the Bombers so I am not surprised. Hopefully the team can build off of this and use it as the season turning point.

Except most if not all offenses have been preying on the secondary without difficulty. Stats can be deceiving but Hams defense is second to last in points allowed, middle of the pack in other categories But its pitchforks and torches from media and fans when QB and offense aren't competitive but a bad defense? We just have to accept it and pretend the odd picks and sacks are a sign of dominance.

There were too many pic-6, strip-6, etc this year.
