Along with the usual problems of being a CFL owner Stern, an American, was prolly fed up to the gills with how hard it is to operate a business and play ball with the city and govt. Quebec is basically an ethnostate and that's how it's run.

From reading the article, it appears to me to me that it's turning into a NASTY estate issue with his family.
"The settlement of that estate remains a complicated matter, and it’s believed Stern has received little co-operation when it comes to matters concerning the Alouettes."

Wonder if it's landing on a value of the team for the purpose of handling the estate - but obviously just speculation

Wonder if it's landing on a value of the team for the purpose of handling the estate - but obviously just speculation WAY above my pay-grade. My FIL is an estate/real estate lawyer, and something like this is extremely complicated. We're talking about teams of lawyers and staff. |

I was reading this too and I do not believe that his departure had anything to do with the league itself though that is pure speculation on my part. While he came across as a bit of a twit I can not knock his will to try things to get interest in his team and the league. Lord knows the CFL needs an enema. |
