Character win. I think.
Cheers: Condell ( did a lot with not a lot). Schiltz good enough. Woods Newman, Smith, Jackson, Defense finally shows up in crunch time.
Jeers: 2 and longs, Durant, penalties, defense still annoyingly soft at times.
Hopefully a turning point of sorts.

Seth Small gets a game ball. 4/4 and the dagger. I was giving game ball to Khari but yes we may well have found a reliable place kicker.

Huge rebound game for all areas of special teams.
Highest point total all season.
Timmy makes a big play.
Newman has to come in for a few series.
Defence with a timely stop and gets the ball Back to the offence to go up by 10.
Considering all the injuries and overcoming the ridiculous stretch of penalties late in the first half, this easily has to be one of the more satisfying wins in a while.

I'm not normally one to complain about the officiating, but wow, that was one great big steaming pile of crap! Can't remember the exact play, but the command centre jumped in to overturn the result in the Argos favour, but on the fake pyramiding call on Kelly (which was also a scoring play), they don't? Utter bullshit.
Team surprised me in the 2nd half, when they usually seem to run out of gas, although they still gave up some soft zone throws to MBT. And why not much pressure on him? MBT can't cope when he doesn't have time to throw.
Durant is a waste of a game cheque. Apart from drawing the PI to put on the 1, he dropped a ball that was right in his hands. Who the eff doesn't want to see more of Kiondre Smith? Kid deserves to start. Timmay with his TD was his blind squirrel finding a nut moment. Ball was underthrown & to give him credit, he made a good adjustment. The throw behind should be a bigger part of our offence.
Surprised to see Simoni come back & play so well after it looked like he might have Addison'ed himself.

Santos-Knox is starting to show himself as the leader of the D. See it more every game. Super active and involved in almost every play. Seems to actually care. Taking over from 21?

Lawrence is a diminishing asset but showed a glimpse of his old self last night. Gutted out an injury. Also TOR's garbage time FG for division tie-breaker points . Anyone believe Stein would have thought of that if roles reversed ?

Well that victory felt nice, but would have felt that much better if it came after a win last week. Some thoughts...
We found a kicker. Seth Small (after a bad miss in BC) is 12/13 and 9/9 on PATs. Finding an American that can kick shouldnt be overly difficult, which makes the BerTOILET era even more frustrating. Hopefully he can hang around a while.
Agree with sec25jg - Santos Knox is all over the field. He has a motor and i'm a big fan.
The CFL continues to ruin its own product with marginal calls. This isnt a bitter Ticats fan perspective, but there are a bunch of 50/50 calls in a game and it seems some of the crews like to call as many of those as possible.
- Command Centre overturn of RTP on Shiltz, Frankly im not even sure what the ref saw. - Call and then confirmation of RTP on Wynn, you can't call that. If I show that video to 1000 football fans how many of them are going to say "nice hit, but really that's roughing the passer", none. - Banks DPI, probably got that one right - Pyramiding, didnt see the video but all i'll say is that it didnt impact the play, a warning would have sufficed. In the NBA refs sometimes wait to to see if the ball goes in before calling the marginal foul. Let that one go. - Punt Return TD on Johnson, Again it looked like woods is 7 yards past when the flag is thrown. You put in rules for more excitement and then take it away with flags.
Having said that, it was nice to see Stein finally show some emotion and let the refs have it.
In-Game Dinwiddie is terrible. How does he not kick that FG at the end of the game with 40 seconds left to have a chance at an onside kick? I get that he probably kicked it for tiebreaker stuff but why not kick it earlier and give your team a chance?
Again the DLine got after it, we're being proven wrong on the Micah Johnson signing. Howsare, Wynn and Johnson all have at least 4 sacks.
Shiltz managed a good game, he had 170 yards including a 60 yard TD, its not a great day but it feels like Condell and co. Conjured up a win. When you have a solid D and your O doesn't turn the ball over too much you'll always be in it against mediocre competition. Still don't think Shiltz is a starting QB in this league but they said he would be valuable insurance and he was. And before people say "he adds an element of rushing that Dane doesnt" he rushed 4 times for 16 yards. So that wasn't true. He also made a colossal mistake that will get overlooked.
As mentioned, Durant is invisible, we aren't using Burt (Cause he's incapable) and this offense doesn't scare anyone. You won't win many games in this league with the team they trotted out there last night. But it seems the coaching staff tries harder when we're shorthanded. Its like they finally decide to do their job. If I read one more time "Maybe they didnt think Acklin was worth $175,000 I'm going to snap" That's the point, he IS worth it and we don't think he is. The league's leading receiver could be had for 7th-9th top paid and we don't think he's worth it?
Lastly, great to see 150 yards rushing. Using Jackson, Newman and STE they really mixed it up and punished Toronto running the ball. Maybe this OLine is figuring it out, or maybe they just had a big night. It remains to be seen.
Overall a nice win to get, but I need to see more before I think this team can contend for 1st because I don't have alot of confidence going into Montreal next week that Dane will play and I don't have any more confidence that this team as constructed will go on the road and win.

I can't believe I'm saying this but the offensive line has played really well, especially in the last three games. Good run blocking, opening up some nice holes and the pass protection has been good as well. Still continuing with the second and 15, throw an 8 yard pass routine is getting tiresome. The defence has been playing great for the most part but they still have the penchant of letting the opposition convert on second and long situations. Shiltz can manage the offence but I don't think he puts fear into the opposition defence. Kiondre Smith is going to be a good receiver in this league and he should be targeted more. Solid win with a big game coming up in Montreal and they are still winless on the road this year. Hoping this victory shows they are turning the corner but I wouldn't bet any money on it.

I am happy they won but the officiating was suspect at best. I do agree with Crash that the league seems hell bent on sabotaging their own product. The pyramiding and RTP on Wynn were just plain dumb calls by the zebras.
Offense gets a bit creative and plays overall much better then they normally do and the offensive line played pretty good. Defensive line continues to shine, did Johnson read these boards and say F* them I will show them who is not washed up? I think others have assessed the WR position well in this thread. Who ever determined Acklin was not worth the money should be fired.
Nice to see the Cats with the comeback for a change.

Sources tell me Simoni is in a brace getting an MRI. Hopefully it's not long term.
