Such a quick turnaround to not only play Tor again, but knowing you still have them 2 of the next 3 weeks.
We contained Harris (Not surprising) but didn't contain the short stuff from MBT (I called it in the keys to winning). You have to force him to throw deep by getting to him and taking away the short stuff. It worked for a half and then Toronto brought in receivers to block - the problem is we didn't get to MBT, and continued to blitz. Why we didn't drop more into coverage at that point is beyond me (Because they were short 1-2 receivers on 2nd down plays).
Anyways - what's the adjustment? Special Teams can't possibly be worse - can the D hold up for 60 minutes? Will we be able to field a professional offense?
I know heads are hung after that loss, but make no mistake Toronto is not a good team. They're still very beatable.
Does this coaching staff get outcoached again?

Hell yeah, they'll get outcoached, it's what they do. I feel really bad for players like Simoni. Guy has shown Hamilton nothing but love, but if he chooses to stay here, it's unlikely he'll ever get a ring. Over on the team board, they're clamoring for the return of Papi White. Yeesh!!

Despite it all I believe we're still the "best" in the East. But when a pattern of underachieving and underperformance in all three phases and failing to exploit a team's full potential is repeated consistently all roads lead to one inescapable conclusion and too many seem reluctant to admit it or too dumb, casual or uninformed to realize it.

Papi Whites career high of 53 yards came in his debut last year... This is what we're clinging to?

The sad reality of the situation is that nobody including the players, coaches or ownership group could care less about how the team is playing right now. The main goal still, is to get first or second place in the East division, host a playoff game, and then play a "must win" game(s) and try to get to the Grey Cup game. The first words out of Stein's mouth will be "the regular season is over now, our record doesn't matter anymore and we all start with a clean slate when the playoffs begin" blah, blah, blah!!!. Who gives a shit about how the team played in the regular season. The East division is so putrid that the 'Cats are still officially in SECOND place. This is one of the main reasons why there will be no major changes this year and it's because the 'Cats are still right in the thick of it to host their cherished home playoff game.

Even though consciously most professional athletes or management wont tell you they're building a team to finish second - there's something to be said for margin of error. In the west if you know you arent great you'll be left on the outside looking in. Sask is a dumster fire and would be in 1st place in the East, they're talking crossover or maybe out. I've never been a fan of one division, but if we had 1 division you can almost guarantee we wouldnt have been in 3 of the 4 Grey Cups we made it to. Perhaps it would put some urgency in the team and the board.

When I said the org wasnt serious about building a championship team the usual apologists went berserk. But if you havent noticed a pattern in the last 3 three seasons from this regime youre in denial. Nothing against Forge or soccer but something has taken the focus and mental energy of this regime.

Nothing against Forge or soccer but something has taken the focus and mental energy of this regime. The focus from the ownership group is definitely not improving the product on the field, instead it's been directed to improving the stadium experience for the younger crowd. Open new end zone patios and viewing areas every month or so where young people can drink, socialize (not watching the game) and play on their phones. Welcome to Tim Hortons Field.

Great so while they are busy making the game day off field experience top notch they are forgetting about the Football side of things or possibly over estimating the football peoples abilities to field a quality team.
The harsh reality is the last time the east had a team that was built to win year over year like the western teams was when Calvillo was the QB for Montreal. No other eastern franchise builds for more then being competitive to earn a playoff spot in the weak ass east division.

Thoughts for game 9 -
Like others here, I’m not sold on Toronto as any sort of upper echelon team. They were fortunate to run into an under-manned Riders team two weeks in a row then completely shat the bed at home against Redblacks. But Cats have proven themselves to be worse.
Evans dnp today with a reported shoulder issue. Hoping this is just a precautionary thing.
Believe home field does make some type of difference to this team. And MBT is rarely consistent week to week. Assuming Evans is a go, I’ll say Cats by a field goal but I think it’s a reverse of last week, Cats start out slow then pull it out late.
After that I’d say we’d be lucky to split the other Argo games.

Henry certainly thought he..err they were great.

Cats add two recs. One american and a canadian. Wondering now what Butler did or didn't do to get blackballed by the 'Cats? One game and you're outta here!!!! Maybe he told them the coaching on this team is atrocious. I mean they deemed him better to keep than Tony Brown after training camp this year. Maybe the 3 Amigos have realized that they aren't good talent evaluators.

It’s like they forgot he was still there. From the little I saw of Turner in camp he seemed to have decent hands and some size - not sure of his speed though but they likely want him as much to help on coverage teams.
