Evans 26/38 297 1td 1int (final play).
He played well,
D was playing well enough between the missed FG and the FG we didn't try, we really should have won this one.

If Dunbar is the only deep threat all the Kharis in the world won't help.

Better run blocking.Jackson was a presence. Addison looked like the old Addison. But again, little things. Good teams don't have to worry about them.

Missed FG. Not taking the points on 3rd down.
Either of those would have put them within 2-points, for a FG attempt with no time remaining.
I admire Orlondo for going for it, but as Crash posted, NOBODY can get open.
When is Orlondo's head on the chopping block? After all, they have Khari to come in and save the day...

We had the same idea. Can you merge our threads?

That was a tough loss when everybody was expecting a blow-out. This team is good on defense but bad on offense. The play calling in the red zone is a real head scratcher. When they decided to go for it on third and short, and that was a tough decision either way, but why do they always try a pass to a usually well-covered receiver deep in the end zone making it a 25 or more yards play. Get the FIRST DOWN!!!! There was lots of time left on the clock to get the TD after.

A couple random thoughts as I wake up with little sleep...
- We probably should have just kicked the FG. If the strength of this team is Defence, why not put the game in their hands?
- It seems while we have some improvements in play "creativity" when the game is on the line we revert back to safe. 2nd and 2 - You have Tim White, Addison and a more mobile QB in Shiltz..... Shotgun inside handoff (that the whole planet knew was coming). Leads me back to the Grey Cup, 1st down on the 7 or whatever it was... 2 inside handoffs.
- In that same situation why not QB sneak? If you know you're going for 3rd down, why not call a 2nd down play that should get you to at least 3rd and 1 - it also would have killed another 20-40 seconds. Frustrating that when the chips are down, we go back to our conservative/predictable roots. I would have liked to see a misdirection play with multiple options - just as I would have liked to in the Grey Cup on 2nd down at the 3-5 yd line.
- You can't bring in an import kicker and miss a 40 yarder, in a dome, from dead straight away. Cant happen. The leash on Small needs to be short, and we should have 2 more import kickers in here tomorrow to challenge.
- Domagala may have a new career as a punter - I thought he was quite good. Could he work on his kicking enough to do both jobs? That remains to be seen but would be a nice roster/ratio breaker if possible.
- One may look at the rushing stats and say "See the OLine has improved" - that's not what I see. Don Jackson had 11 / 36 for a 3.3 yd average. It was Shiltz, Addison, White and Thomas-Erlington that provided the bulk of the rushing yards with 10 yard (or so) average between them. These are misdirection plays and not power plays, more indicative of creativity in the offense, runs around the outside, etc. Not complaining about the result but speaks more to Condell working with what he has and less to OLine success IMO.
- The challenge on the No Yards was emotional. Didn't think it was worth it. Didn't impact the game as they punted anyways. Now how the Kommand Centre missed that was, well... expected.
- Shiltz needs to stop with the "Round the outside" sneak on EVERY 3rd down. You have to trust the Oline to get the 1 yard the majority of the time and sprinkle in the bust outside every once in a while. It's dangerous and leads to stops, as witnessed last night. Nobody will blame him if he gets stuffed because the line doesn't hold up, but i'll certainly blame him if he tries the outside and gets met by Ja'Gared Davis.
- Suitor was not as bad as expected, but normally he isn't when it's not a Riders game. Apart from him calling out people on social media, making up the RB on 3rd down thing (absurd), and saying 10 times that in order to get 2 plays with 10 seconds left you have to get out of bounds (what?) he was tolerable.
- Lalji on the other hand had a rough night, i'm not gonna go as far as to call him a BC Homer because I didn't get that impression, but it's painfully obvious that he spends alot of time with the BC Team and didn't do enough homework on the Ticats players. He made countless roster errors with the Ticats, TSN is just plugging gaps and it shows.
On to our stretch where it's going to feel like Groundhog Day with the schedule.

On one hand you could say this team can compete with BC in BC on a short week so there's hope.
On the other hand why do we always as a fanbase have to cling to hope? This team still isn't very good.
They make so many mental mistakes.

Defence played more than well enough to win, on a short week. They are coming around well. They held a high scoring team to 17 pts. Offence is, well, offensive. Time count? I'm watching and could see it coming, then Dane acts shocked. Got the 3 min. warning time out and that is the best play they could come up with? Pathetic. they could have/should have won this one. I think Tommy is going to get a new title soon and K Jones takes over.

Oh ya; Special teams are playing great, except kicker. Domagala get promoted/demoted to punter and they bring in this guy? Seth Small kicking last week showed he aint the answer. His kicks were in close and he made them but he wasn't down the middle. He was closer to the left side post than the middle. last night he misses left from 40 yds. Am I missing something? Why can't Domagala do both jobs? he is no worse than this import.

I believe that a "more conservative" approach should be made by the coaches when it comes down to deciding what scoring play to attempt.
The team was 3 time zones away, on a short week, in a sweltering domed stadium where the retractable roof was broken, against one of the best teams in the League coming off a bye week. Talk about having a competitive disadvantage. Apparently only 16/155 were at this game. maybe Thursday night games in Vancouver are a bad sell to the local population?
The reason I say this, is that I truly believe that they should have attempted a regular PAT, and attempted FGs instead of 3rd-down plays. The missed FG and the incomplete 2-pointer left the team in a 5-point deficit. They lost by 2. Can you do the math?
My opinion is that the team should "take the points" in an away game like this. The first failure in the 4th should have been a FG attempt to get us within 2. A last-second FG attempt could have won the game. We roasted the CRAP out of June Jones for less egregious coaching mental errors (cough, cough, punting for a Rouge instead of a FG attempt to put us up 2 scores).
One person pointed out that Dane seemed to miss wide-open WRs on a number of plays - either to bad vision or the design of the play. That happens to ALL QBs during a game, but if the "wide open" WR is the 3rd or more option, then he wouldn't have enough time in the pocket to make the pass anyhow. That also happens if a QB has to roll out or escape the rush - which happens on a continual basis (but it's starting to get better).
I would like to see the "All-24" footage of the failed attempts in the 4th quarter. Crash showed blanket coverage, with nobody to throw to, so the only option was a Ricky Ray-style Post Fade pass that was tipped (but, I feel, still catch-able. Timmeh -seemed- to give up on it).
Can someone tell my how Timmeh White - AKA The Kneel - is still on the roster?

Anyone else wondering why Tim White can't catch a break? Was that the most unlucky game a Ticat player has had in a loooooooooong time?
Can't get a flag, couple of drops that would have been tough catches, but... makeable... couple of catches just short of a first down either by a shoestring tackle or a bad spot.
just bad jet lag or a bad few games?
