What are the options at this point?
Saxelid - likely 6 game Woodmansey - 6 game
Watching that debaucle again Van Turn-Zeyl, Fontana, Vornkahl did not look good at all.
It's ugly, and the expectation that we're just going to magically figure it out is optimistic but I guess warranted based on history, but the East isnt a laughing stock and they're going to block Ja'Gared Davis?
Let's be clear, this unit had serious questions before the injuries and so they're not an excuse.
As pointed out in the other thread by Pope - what is management going to do to address the situation? In 2021 the answer is categorically "Absolutely nothing" because that's what happened.

I have the same concerns about the Oline. How has this not been addressed properly as the Offensive line has been a problem for multiple seasons. Also why is Gibbons the Offensive line coach still? Worst in the league by a country mile.
I do not post on the other board as they would rip me a new one but unless the line issues get solved I do not expect Evans to last beyond game 6 without a serious injury.

It's funny that people don't feel safe posting on the other board. Almost as if there's cyber bullying going on.

This year they basically swapped out Fontana for Ciraco. Until they traded for Saxelid not really anything else. Hoping Vornkahl and Van Zeyl can work through this spell because we don’t have many other options at tackle.
They signed ex- Redblack Pickett today but I heard Fontana has a knee problem and didn’t practice today. So they might have to stick Pickett in this weekend with no camp on a new team.
Didn’t we do this last year???

I have been saying that for a few years now. You can not have a discussion on that board cause if you do not fully drink the kool aid and bow at the alter of Ticat Management and coaching you are not accepted into the collective.
For me the cats personnel wise went significantly backwards this year. I do believe that the east is wide open this season and that the Cats can finish anywhere from first to last in the division. It will be a close race this season.

But somehow Condell and Gibson, both hires and retainment being management decisions, are exempt and fair game. So are ownership decisions. Which leaves pretty much only El Presidente Stein but he needs to be shielded for something something reasons. Its a intricate, delicate balance that has no logic from someone observing from the outside but makes perfect sense to a believer.

Hardly Championship football.

For sure. Getting a bad feeling as this has the makings of a miss the playoffs kind of year. Last season we had some time to get our act together with Ottawa being terrible, Argos finding their way and Montreal running hot and cold. I think those other three teams will be hitting the ground running this year and we have the look of an older team that’s content to stand pat with a bunch of vets on defence.
If they can re- jig the oline to some level of competence we have a shot at first place. But I see the team struggling to Labour Day.

It's great to have a football discussion with fans who actually "understand" the game and this site provides that. We may not agree with each other at times but at least I know I can talk to fellow fans who have a clue. The cheerleader site is great for people like Krissy who can shake their pom poms to their hearts content.

I used to post on the ticats.ca board a while ago but if you aren't part of the old boys club over there you are never accepted. Anyways. The O Line wont be fixed this weekend so can we drum up a game plan that can win us another low scoring game because I think our Defence will come to play against Bo.

Just use the Offence we used with Watford... lol

Calgary’s front four looked really good against the Als. Dane may need some Tylenol 3’s after this one. But for some reason I’m a little more optimistic this week than last, maybe because we’ve done well against the Stamps at home last few years and Bo scares me less these days than Maier.

From 3DN: "The Tabbies also look to be making some changes along their offensive line after the unit gave up eight sacks against the Riders in Week 1. American rookie Tyrone Riley has been lining up at left tackle in place of last week’s starter Travis Vornkahl. Vornkahl has been moved to right guard in place of Jesse Gibbon who has been taking all of his reps at centre this week.Canadian offensive lineman Kyle Saxelid, who was carted off during Hamilton’s Week 1 game, has also not been practicing. The University of Nevada-Las Vegas product was seen in a walking boot on Wednesday."
This does not fill me with anticipation...

The moves highlighted by sigpig smell of desperation to me. Gibbons at center? Did he at any point ever line up there?
