My only glimmer of hope is that Vornkahl and Van Zeyl have played better and should improve. Revenberg usually reliable. Fontana and Gibbon are a real trouble spot though. Sask was getting a huge push up the middle all game and completely stuffed the run game as well. Our only Canadian depth is Okafor right now with Saxelid and Woodmansey injured. We’ve got 1 or 2 rookie Americans kicking around on pr but that’s it. Only Canadian olineman I can think of who might be available is Nolan MacMillan - don’t remember him re- signing with the Redblacks. They had a chance to sign Jamal Campbell in the off-season but Sask picked him up instead. May live to regret that one. 8 sacks is a major problem, and if Dane gets hurt it wont matter how slow we started. The look on Dane's face during the game was saying "I'm gonna get fuckin' killed playing behind this O-line". Seen this all in the past with Calvillo, Collaros etc. How long before we start hearing the QB is shitty, better get a new one?

It goes in stages, 'pope. Go after OC for not devising plays when QB has 1.8 seconds before being sacked. Then QB. Then HC. Owner ? never.

QB has 1.8 seconds before being sacked. Wow!! that's being generous. I figured it was closer to 0.5 seconds.

I am so glad I missed this shit show. Defense played fairly well from what I understand and overall I think the team will be fine on that side of the ball.
Why on earth does the OLine continue to be a complete after thought by the Hamilton Organization?
Why is Mike Gibbons still employed as the O Line coach? He is without a doubt the worst offensive line coach in pro football.
If Dane gets hurt for any significant time this season would be over barring some miracle.

Seriously think it's coaching or talent ...and if it's coaching then who hired him and who brought him back ?

It is mind boggling how anyone can blame Evans for the loss. He definitely needs to secure the ball better but my god the last time I saw pressure like that was 60-1 at Calgary.
Really makes you wonder what people are watching sometimes.

Really makes you wonder what people are watching sometimes. Beta fans have knickers in a twist over Evans getting mad after sacks. Its exactly the attitude you want from a QB . It shows desire and a high expectation from himself and the people around him. Its a leadership quality.

It's funny that every concern I had in the PBP thread, save for the punter (he looked good in his first game) came to pass. It's also funny that Grover, who trashed my initial post, doubled-down after the game. Even te site cheerleaders (except for one thing who blames Dane for everything) are blaming the O-line, and even the <gasp> coasning and front office. One of those is a site moderator... lol

It's easy to spend the offseason saying cute little things like "I'm looking forward to seeing (insert journeyman player here)" but the proof is in the pudding. It all boils down to if you're satisfied with .500 football and losing the grey Cup from the weaker conference. Some people are just happy to have a team.

The only thing I'll be interested in following this week, and in the weeks to come, is what are the coaches and management doing to address the obvious problems with our offensive line. How long will they take to make changes? How long will it take to remove players who aren't performing and giving some other player a chance to do a better job? Not really looking forward to this home opener and really hoping that we don't see a repeat of last week regarding the O-line. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Signed by all 3 GMs. Weird how "Trust the professionals. You think you know more than they do, hater ?" sort of just evaporated after one game.
