Sask has receivers that go up and make plays. Dunbar. Any minute now.

Needed a sleep to recover from that debacle. Never mind quarterback or receiver play in this game, this was all on the horrendous offensive line play. When the score was 12-6 I was thinking we won't be able to overcome this 6 point deficit, WTF?? This team better start getting some somewhat experienced O-lineman in town either by trade, if possible, or by raiding somebody's practice roster. They need a capable centre and left tackle asap. Woodmansey showed promise last year but he's injured right now. Is the Jesse Gibbon experiment coming to an end? I'm still suffering from PTSD from attending the Grey Cup and I'm not even looking forward to attending the home opener on Saturday. Wow, have times ever changed for me.

That wasnt fun at all. Evans was sacked 8 TIMES! I really hope that was just the Cats going against the best DLine in the league, at home. They are traditionally slow starters but that was ugly.

My only glimmer of hope is that Vornkahl and Van Zeyl have played better and should improve. Revenberg usually reliable. Fontana and Gibbon are a real trouble spot though. Sask was getting a huge push up the middle all game and completely stuffed the run game as well. Our only Canadian depth is Okafor right now with Saxelid and Woodmansey injured. We’ve got 1 or 2 rookie Americans kicking around on pr but that’s it. Only Canadian olineman I can think of who might be available is Nolan MacMillan - don’t remember him re- signing with the Redblacks.
They had a chance to sign Jamal Campbell in the off-season but Sask picked him up instead. May live to regret that one.

One of these days "we always start slow" is going to turn in to "we never improved". All of the signs were there this offseason that this team put all of it's attention to the defensive side of the ball. Interestingly enough a defensive Head Coach like Stein can probably find the diamonds in the rough a little better than others and shouldnt have to go after the free agent defensive players (or spend on current defensive talent). This one didn't feel like last year's opening loss - 8 sacks is a major problem, and if Dane gets hurt it wont matter how slow we started.
