The last CFL game played in Guelph featured an arctic hurricane, a FG attempt being blown back into the field of play, and an OT win against MTL in the EDSF.
My question: will Simoni destroy Speedy if given the opportunity for a clean hit?

I think he’ll reserve that kind of love for James Wilder. In a regular season game, though, I don’t see Simoni holding much back. Can’t imagine either guy playing much more than a quarter though if at all. Still a ton of guys to evaluate.

I'm with you though, in this day and age it's a long season.

This would give more evaluation time for all the new players and get the vets a bit more of a first half warmup for the season. Fans can leave whenever they feel like it and with all the substitutions player safety shouldn’t be a concern.

More time to get the starters reps, more time to get the look you want on other players.

But I'd settle for a return to the two game total point.

Mike Hogan off to a good start. What happened with Banks? Was it injury or scheme and playcalling....

Targeted over 5 times and I think 1 reception.
Punting is putrid. Yet another failure for the Three Monkeys (my new name for the GM crew) that will affect a major part of the team for ANOTHER season.

Went to the game. Punting is horrendous. Serious concern again especially with the new no yards rules.

Unbelievable to think they couldn’t come up with one reasonably competent NCAA kicker in two years. And I’m not convinced any of the newer defensive ends will hold a candle to what Ja’Garrd Davis brought to the table. Crossing my fingers that the field goal kicking seems to be better at least. Did any new players stand out to you?

I agree no DE seems to stand out at all.
Butler and Johnson would be my picks for receivers to stick around.
No RB looked good and really the OLine as a whole didn't look good, a concern we all seem to have.
I don't see anything in either third string QB. Both just too raw.
Punting is a joke.
Lawrence Woods seemed to be all over the field.

Hey boys, don't criticize management or the coaches. All is good, it's a new season, everything is in the past and you can't change history so why worry about it. Don't ask about the "kneel down" because you will never hear the truth anyway.
Yours truly, The Ticats Cheerleaders from ticats.ca

Yours truly, The Ticats Cheerleaders from ticats.ca Shockingly enough, even THOSE cheerleaders are finally admitting that the punting game, at least, is a joke. On poster on there brings up a good point about the Global ratio. Right now, there is only one half-decent Global player in Gnouha(sp), and the team needs two Global players on the game-day roster. This seems to be what every other team is doing, and hiding their Global players as kickers/punters. Oddly enough, under the old CBA, the League Minimum for Global players was over $10k less than all others, so that's not surprising.
The Three Monkeys cheaped-out on the kicking game AGAIN, and I have the feeling it will bite them in the ass again.

That's the CFL for you. You have to basically put up with two inferior Global players, who would have never made the roster anyway, which complicates how you manage your roster and who the back-ups are etc. etc. and for what? They have to get rid of this Global initiative.
