I don't believe in curses, but what other explanation is left? 101 points against in three games. If the Defence and Special Teams were even AVERAGE, not elite, but AVERAGE, I feel that we would be at least 2-1.
Butler didn't forget how to run - he had an excellent game vs Calgary. You have to give SSK credit for stuffing the run and forcing Bo to throw the football 500 times per game.
If Woods held onto the danged football on the opening kickoff, SSK probably doesn't score two plays later.
If Washington's Defence actually put ANY type of pressure on the SSK backup QB, or bothered to tackle Ouelette anywhere but around his shoulders, they would have made a couple of stops in the second half.
If the ST blockers could, you know, actually BLOCK, then just maybe we would have longer returns and have the opportunity to flip the field if Woods manages to break one.
The Offence, aside from one "star" receiver, is not the issue with this team. It's too bad that the chattering masses only look at QB play and not the fact that the Defence is abysmal.
I agree with your points, but I think Pope & I were referring to the 2+ decades of futility rather than just simply this 1 game. We've changed personnel, coaches, front office staff over the years & we're no closer to a championship. It's maddening.

I recently realized that I have known you guys (Pope, Crash, you, Mark, Dork, etc) for 20 years. It started when I joined the original site when I was deployed to the Middle East back in 2004.

That would require having a competent receiving corp but aside from Kiondre Smith and maybe Dunbar this team is otherwise devoid of any talent there. The lack of chemistry between White and Bo is so obvious it is scary. My son and I remain stunned that the team resigned Tim White at all as there is no way that this was not going on last season. Mark Washington's time as DC should be over and I think that this defense is as bad as the 1-17 team Bridges has turned into a decent find at receiver. White looks completely out of it, no confidence, this was his worst week by far and he didn’t look good in the first two. The team has a bye in week six. If they’re going to pull the trigger on a co-ordinator change that might be the time, sandwiched between two home games. I’m not usually one to call for a coach’s head especially with all the new personnel on that side of the ball but they are approaching Creehan-Reinebold bad. Next break doesn’t happen until after Labour Day and by that point the season is probably done. If Bridges continues to improve I will come around on him but I did not like his first two games at all. My comments that the Cats receiving corp sucks stand as we have the worst unit in the league bar none.

I actually have no issues with the QB this year, while he has not been perfect he has been vastly improved. His issue remains that he tries to do too much when the team is down and he gets himself in the team in more trouble and the hole always gets bigger for the team.
My issue is the receivers, the defense, and special teams all of which has been first rate trash.

Bo is and has always been a front runner. I'm not blaming him either.
