By no means am I blaming Powell for the loss - but it IS time to play a QB who isn't a statue in the pocket. Maybe at this point, this is who he is, because there wasn't any visible improvement from the last game.
I'm not saying that Locksley will be the season-saver, but at least the guy can scramble and perhaps RUN for a first down when necessary. It also opens up the RPO plays that Powell can't do due to his immobility.
I have been harping on Washington's defence for three years now. It's the same broken record every game.
"Punting was bad". Well, El Presidente, when your starting punter gives you the finger and goes back home to Australia, it should be a message driven right into your frontal cortex - especially since your supposed starting Kicker did the same.

Not alot of questions being asked about why the teams starting punter and kicker both left the team seemingly never to be heard from again.

Stein is basically zombie coaching now.Like watching a boss who know hes going to be made redundant, bought out or retiring. Going thru the motions. Tragic to think there are fans who still think he has some fire and brimstone "changes are coming" "we want players who want to be here" type announcement inside of him waiting to pour out .

For sure. Stein knows that he is dead man walking and a lame duck coach at this point in the season. When he does get relieved (however they want to word it) of his duties at season's end it will seem to him that a giant elephant has been lifted off his back. |
