There was lots of speculation on The Prowl about trading Dane to SSK for a King's ransom...

Interesting how Naylor was completely out of the loop on this. He had him going to the Argos 48 hrs ago.

Typically when a QB gets traded there's some sort of tangible return, 6th Olineman and a pick type of thing... maybe history got in the way?

When they traded for Bo they lost all leverage.

The only immediate return here is losing Dane's salary. I'm really curious to see whether Bo will have any discretion re play calling, ie having the ability to call his own plays. Seems to me that the offensive production has really declined in the years since McManus, Burris, Calvillo et al were allowed to call their own plays.

I'm going to say no. Condell seems like a control freak with his offense.

Those types of guys are getting fewer and farther between tho. Bo might be there with his experience, but who knows.

The only ones in recent memory who had the chops for that were Brady and Payton Manning - and I don't recall them calling their own games play-by-play. The DID have exceptional latitude to call audibles pre-snap (and maybe even in the huddle, but we will never really know for sure). The only CFL QB that -could- have done that recently would have been Ricky Ray.

You'd have to think that Collaros gets a lot of leeway. The only other current QB I could think might get it as well would be Harris.
