Shouldn't have this been a busy by- week. Still in the hunt for playoffs with an eye on next year..you know..send a message to fans after a tough loss... something other than complete silence ? I know that this is from the past but does anybody remember the guy that went by the name of Caretaker or something like that. Used to actually post video updates here and there and he even use to post his thoughts on ticats.ca. Whatever happened to that guy? He got bullied off his own site.

There's some guy on social media who goes by "Caretaker". Talks about Forge FC and soccer a lot but not much about building championship football teams . Wonder if Young knows ?

The sentiment from the Prowl over the past few years has been... "We made the Grey Cup, you cant win them all" "We've been the best team in the East over the past 5-10 years, what else do you want?" "Our time will come, etc" There's a happy medium between winning every Grey Cup and being 7-6, falling into the playoffs, needing a miracle to win and almost getting it. I heard it last night. Calgary has made the playoffs for 17 consecutive seasons. That's it. That's what I want. Organizational stability and consistently being over .500. They don't win every Grey Cup, they don't even get to that many more than everyone else... but they're always around and always a threat. In the West where you have to be on your game all the time, 17 consecutive years in the playoffs. Am I on the right track people?
This truly is a mic drop and walk away from the podium moment. Crash, I could not outlined or said it better and you hit the nail squarely on the head as to how I feel about the Cats and what I want from the team.

Stein.
There's reality : Took a 15 win team he largely inherited to back to back sub .500 seasons in a weak division and needed help to make playoffs. Too many second half collapses, chronic lack of adjustments, coaching errors, in game and off field decisions to list up to and including last Sun.
Then there's Josh Smith : "The idea that Steinauer should be on the hot sat is assinine."

Josh is nothing more than a fan with a podcast and a part-time blog. I also question his actual football knowledge.

Smart, reasonably smart, casual, dumb, moronic fans can all make a laundry list of whats wrong with this team and provide observations on Sunday's debacle.. Opinions. . But when you're unable or unwilling to draw connections from whats wrong to the HC (Smith isnt alone in this) and in some cases flat out refuse the notion there's a connection I think you forfeit any claim to providing insight.

It comes down to "access" or "no access". The team is tighter than a whale's arse when it comes to outside media, and doubly-so with their OWN media. It doesn't help that the Spec isn't an independent newspaper any more, and their sports "office" got pared-down to nothing. Like him or not, Edwards tried to give new Ticats news every day. Both sides lost during the Austin thing. There hasn't been a beat reporter since.

A prediction if you will. I believe Stein, Condell (a friend has bet me Condell will be gone) and Washington will all be back in their same roles for the 2023 season. I think they will be given the full year to try and bring the team back to a hometown Grey Cup appearance. If all three of these guys return then I think we will witness the same things we saw this year only it will be with different players, from free agent signings, draft picks or trades. I really hope I'm wrong but I just don't see it being any different.

Stein will change his mantra from "players are expensive" to "you have to keep up with the other teams"

Condell will be replaced with Khari who gets multiple indefinable job titles in the bargain. Gibson is gone. Butler is gone , at least one other assnt is gone all replaced by Stein buddy hires. Washington will interview for OTT HC job. But hes not going anywhere.

In fact, I was in the stands as a nine year old boy, sitting with my father and grandfather, in October 1962 and witnessed Joe's first start. We clobbered the green riders 67-21 and Zuger threw a CFL record 8 TD passes in his first start. Great memories.
