"so sick and tired of this team's prevent defence" Never in my life have I seen a prevent with a safety blitz. Not saying the Defence is exempt from criticism but Jesus Christ watch the games. Attachments:

Some additional Sunday morning thoughts coffee on this one...
I don't know that the decision to go for 3rd and 6 actually hurt us. If you let the sequence play out Montreal punts on a 2 and out and we come down and score a TD. You can't say that cost us 3 points because if we kick the FG Montreal gets it on the 40 and likely doesnt result in an ensuing Ticats TD drive. We don't know what happened but at the end of the day we did get the TD. So while I didnt really like the decision, You cant definitively say it "cost" us points.
The second decision to kick a FG was one that I wasnt a fan of. Now the play by play says it was 3rd and 1. If it was then with 40 seconds left there was lots of time to go for it, run 2 more plays and potentially still kick the FG. I'd have to go back and look at the sticks but 3rd and 2/3 I can understand taking the points but if that was 3rd and 1 I think we made the wrong call.
Tim White finally showed up. 11 for 145. What's concerning is everybody else (Dunbar, Jackson, Smith, Burt, Ungerer, Durant and STE) combined for 150. There's still a lack of talent on the field on offense and it shows when we need a big play. If White can keep this up, Dunbar/White would be a formidable duo for the return of Dane Evans. Note - Lemar Durant looks lost out there. Jogging, not blocking well on running plays, so far an absolute bust.
Why no package for Newman? Shiltz ran 1 time for 2 yards (Sneak) so either he's still a little nicked up or they just decided they were good to go with a straight back offense. They seemed so quick to get Shiltz in when it was Dane, but if that's going to be the identity of this team then why not run it yesterday? With only 68 yards rushing it might have helped.
I didn't think we got as much pressure on Harris as I would have liked. After getting to MBT the last couple weeks I was looking forward to much of the same. Didn't happen.
Seth Small continues to be a refreshing change. He was 12/13 going into yesterday and was 1/2. Of course 51 yds to take the lead is a big one that we would have had no faith in Domagala to hit - so missing from 43 sucks but it happens. You won't make them all. Given you now the CFL if you wanted to be aggressive you could have gone for 3rd and 2. Making sure the game ends with a kick or a stop. Not sure I liked the long FG and then just giving them the ball back. It felt like once we got the horse collar we couldn't wait to kick the FG.
The offense doing nothing after getting a lead seemed to have returned again yesterday - while it wasnt obvious check out the drives after the Tim White TD for 64 yards, this is our 4th Quarter Offense and special teams (This is how you blow a lead in a football game): - 2 plays (Holding on Durant) Punt - 4 plays (Fumbled snap) Punt out of bounds - Penalty.(Net 21 yards) - 2 plays (Shiltz Time count) Dunbar drop - Punt - 4 plays (Aided by questionale penalty) - then 2 plays - FG
For what it's worth Shiltz played well - but lets not discount Montreal gifting us 10 points with a roughing the kicker call and the horsecollar tackle on the final drive. Montreal tried to give this one to us as much as we gave it back.
Before the go ahead TD for Montreal I would have preferred to give up the safety - It would have made it a 4 point game (from 6) and they would have not been starting on our 39 yard line. In retrospect they would have gone up 3, we would have tied with the FG instead. But i'm not convinced they score so easily if we kickoff vs punt from our endzone.
On the Lewis play that got them into FG range if you watch it (instead of making stuff up) you'd notice that the Corner (i cant make out who it is) backs off as the ball is snapped, after playing a cushion. It's probably zone at the sticks allowing a 7 yard throw. The goal with the all out safety blitz is to get them to throw quick and take away the down field throw. It works and then Leonard steps up to make the tackle and whiffs. No, it's not a prevent, It's not a bend but don't break, its a friggin missed tackle. That's it. If he makes the play it's a 6 yard gain and they're at midfield.
Overall this is the team we have - we'll win a couple close ones and get real frustrated more often than not. There will likely be some better performances where we say "Is this team finally turning the corner?" but the reality is there's no corner to turn - this is who we are. The east is far from over but that doesn't mean anything - once again we can't play with the big boys and barely play with the middle tier. We could still host a playoff game, and if that's your goal then I guess you're happy.

It's interesting that some people on the other site are starting to post the same things we did around Game 2 (or earlier).
It only took TEN games...

It only took TEN games... some people have to see things with their own eyes over and over to believe it. No shame in that. If you've finally subscribed to the theory that we're being outplayed, lack the talent to compete and are consistently being outcoached.... Then welcome to the toxic party

At this point, with these injuries, this team is on the outside looking in playoff-wise. I have to wonder - would Banks have been an asset this season? He's playing like cr@p this year in Toronto, and I can only imagine his antics on a team as disfunctional as Hamilton.
I wonder if Timmeh had some "play well or you're cut" motivation, because his performance came out of nowhere - this season, at least.

I'd bet dollars to donuts Banks isn't happy over there, but it was really his best option to continue his career. He likely would have been ok here after Addison went down. There aren't many players on this team who shouldn't have that said to them, but I doubt our coaching staff take that approach. To my mind, coaching is a bigger issue than talent.

You wont get me to believe there wasnt a following out with him and Stein. After the GC it was obvious he was defeated and frustrated. On the team's side there's no reason to announce you're parting ways before free agency. If anything let him go see what kind of deal he can get and then see if you want to match it. He signed for what? 100k? He would have likely re-signed here for 90k. The team felt that they were good at WR but reality is you can never have too many, they should have just found the room. There's no walking that back now and there's no chance they'll bring him back even for the slightest of costs.

I think age has finally caught-up to his tiny body. I know that last season he was plying hurt/injured for most of the year, but before the injuries he was...mediocre.
Anyhow, this thread isn't about Banks. It's about how the team we "love" continues to cr@p the bed. Steve Milton is actually starting to call them out in his latest article.

We could still host a playoff game, and if that's your goal then I guess you're happy. The cheerleaders absolutely love that thought. We could actually get to the Grey Cup game, but for what? So we can cross our fingers, hope and pray, and truly believe we can be just like the Redblacks were when they played the Stamps for the cherished mug. Not gonna happen.

Regardless, it was good to see Milton call out the team's faults in that article. I don't see us getting 6 wins without some changes, & if we do by some miracle make it to the GC, we'll get crushed.

Milton Column: Points out the team is broken, doesn't take courage or insight for that, yet hasn't raised a single eyebrow over the head coach (defended him actually) but the convenient "predictable" play calling gets a mention again and, of course, silence on Washington. Don't know how anyone could come away after reading this and get a sense the regime is under any sort of pressure or its provoking a sense of urgency or theres s more to this (from the the top down) debacle than play calling and too many mistakes.

...So if the only "scrutiny" this regime gets is obvious, passive criticism from what remains of sports media in this town and mostly dumb, agenda riddled anonymous takes on social media what hope is there for constructive change? From class of the East and more than competitive with the West in 2019 to sub .400 football life and death possiblity of just crawling into a semi final in 2022.
Facts are stubborn things.
