This team is phlucked.
Kent Austin had the balls to step down, will Orlondo (the Prez) fire Orlondo (the HC)?

This isn't a pre cap era team that's broke and has no choice but to field a garbage product which makes this unprofessionalism even more inexcusable and unacceptable.

Early thoughts from this one...
1. This felt exactly like the Sask game - Hang around, but not really hang around and the result is really never in doubt.
2. I can't find the words to describe what management did to a rather competent offense the last couple years.
3. If this team is spent to the salary cap they are severely overpaying players.
4. You can't hang this on Dane Evans - Stein should be charged with malpractice for this offense.
5. Im not convinced this is on Condell either, he's shown he can call plays that generate yards and points, when you cant block nothing else matters.
6. Papi White is not a professional receiver, and we dumped Acklin for him? And hes not even returning kicks?
7. Dunbar cant get 15 targets, he's not that good.
8. Kicking a FG down 16 was June Jones stupid. Making a 2 score game a 2 score game against a team that doesnt give up TDs.
9. This team reminds me of the mid 2000's Blue Jays. Good enough to compete but not good enough to win anything. It's purgatory.
10. If what you're watching surprises you - or you're that angry - you are either very optimistic or somehow didn't see this coming. I'll give you credit for being an optimist.

Cross-posting my "Burn the Witches" post:
This was one VERY uninspired football game.
We were in trouble WELL before the coin toss - with that useless sack of potatoes called Okafor actually starting at Guard.
I can't remember a single play where I saw an open receiver. No matter what the cheerleaders say on here, they are simply not good enough. Too small, too inexperienced, too useless.
Our placekicker missed two FG attempts, costing the team 6 points. He's reverting to his old ways, and hopefully Orlondo will actually have the stones to cut him.
Whoever thought it was a good idea for Addison to block Jefferson or Jeffcoat should be fired. There's a reason we have a guy named Jake Burt on the team.
Two bad snaps in a row in the 4th quarter killed any chance of a drive. Not surprising, considering who Orlondo's forced to play due to the incompetence of the Three Monkeys.
We seem to have found a punter.
The running game, through no fault of ST-E (or whoever takes a handoff - it doesn't really matter), is a shambles with this O-line.
Dunbar coughed up a pick-6 in the 4th after the ball hit him RIGHT in the hands. And ANOTHER one inside 3 minutes.
There was actually a LEG WHIP penalty called against WPG. I seriously thought Chris Walby had strapped on the pads again.
The Blue Jays won, so that's a bonus.
Dunbar needs to be released. He's nothing but a liability.
This team is a disaster. It starts with the President of Football Operations, his three co-underlings who can't seem to find their keisters with both hands, and the Head Coach who continues to make the same horrible coaching decisions every frickin' year.
I feel that with the personnel we have, the playoffs are a pipe dream. If the idiots in the front office can't find any replacement players for the tomato cans we currently have, they should be sent packing with a size-18 boot to their a$$.

A garbage product to watch this year is what we are going to get. I honestly believe if this team went 0-18, Stein would still be given a chance to win a Grey Cup on home field in 2023. The organization would probably say "Look, Lancaster brought a last place 1997 team to the Grey Cup the following year." "Give them a chance and don't worry about what happened in 2022, that's all in the past".

Reality is if this team did what the 98 team did and sign every free agent out there we would probably win the Cup at home. They had their chance and didn't do it last year. Why would they do it next year?

Some great points in this thread. Lets be honest this is just a bad football team so far this year and while some of it is on players the majority is on the front office and the piss poor coaching that has occurred so far this season.
Regarding Papi White and Okafer, how are they even on the team still? I agree keeping Papi and letting Acklin go was a bat crap retarded move by the Tiger-Cats.
Nice that the punting game is coming around because they will need a good one to avoid blow outs this season.
While the season is not lost I am not holding out hope this year as the holes did not get filled they just got bigger. If Orlando is not embarrassed about the state of the talent on this team and the piss poor coaching job then he needs to either remove himself as President and HC or someone should do that for him.
Unless they miraculously find a competent Oline with good coaches I do not see the playoffs in the cards for the Cats this year.

Even the most amateur armchair QB could see this OLine was not going to compete. At this point you do have to wonder if costs were cut due to the "transaction". It has to be a fair question. This Oline is not of professional quality. Is Stein wearing too many hats? Does his defensive background cloud his judgement on Offense?

Lack of oline depth has been brewing for a long time. Since 2016, I think we’ve only drafted 3 decent linemen - Revenberg, Ciraco and Woodmansey. They let Ciraco walk this year and somehow Landon Rice wasn’t good enough to keep on the team a few years ago - now he’s Montreal’s starting right tackle. Jury is out in Gibbon, and Okafor hasn’t panned out.
Way too much emphasis in the draft on linebackers for special teams when we could have picked up another offensive lineman. Same with going after Burt last year when we already had Kalinic.
American recruiting has been heavy on receivers and dbs. No impressive defensive lineman really. Mauldin who they also let walk looked better to me than either Howsare or Carney.
Steinauer seems fixated with bringing back his defensive guys but at some point this team is going to be too old on that side of the ball. I think they’re almost at that point now.
They’ll get some guys back and win a few against the weaker teams but they are in no way a threat in this league. Will be lucky to get a playoff spot if that. Looks to me like a 6 or 7 win team.

Agreed, stunning how poorly Management and Orlando has been at evaluating talent overall. I agree with derkickistneingut with this team being a 6-7 win type team. I do disagree with drafting Jake Burt as Kalinic left for the NFL. Overall I do agree with your assessment of the drafting though, they really just are no longer good at drafting even.
This will be a long season.

That was disappointing but I think they'll beat Edmonton and really they're a couple bad breaks away from being 2-2. I don't think hope is lost yet.

y'all.... we're down three (4) guys on the Oline.... it's gonna get a least a little better. Assuming Rev comes back healthy, and assuming Woodmansy isn't toast, and factoring in the addition of Kelly... it's not *that* bleak. New guy at LT looks pretty okay. (i am kinda assuming Saxelid is done for the year here though)
The bombers game didn't get me as riled up as the Calgary game tbh, (which is weird)
It more or less seemed like we were step for step with the consensus team to beat, two missed FGs made it worse than it was (yes, the kicker is part of the team... i get it...if hes bad, team get is worse)... Team looks better, but our supposed strong suit has given up 300 passing per game which is terrifying.
*BUT* bright side here (and i'm staying there for now) Domagala's missing wide, not short. last year he wasn't even sniffing these distances.... This is kind of a big deal.
Long story short, i'm all over the place.... trying to stay positive.

Woodmansey is coming off the 6 game. Will probably go to RG, with Kelly moving to LT.
